Accessible Chair Yoga for Dementia Care with St. James’ Settlement

Project Status:  On going
Last Updated: 12 June 2026

About this Project:

St. James’ Settlement is a well-established NGO dedicated to providing high-quality social services to meet the diverse needs of our community. Among their comprehensive services, they offer specialized care, rehabilitation training, and caregiver support for individuals facing cognitive challenges through their dedicated dementia care centers.

In partnership with St. James’ Settlement, AYC is excited to offer a series of accessible Chair Yoga sessions specifically designed for individuals with dementia. Our goal is to provide a safe, calm, and supportive environment where participants can engage in gentle movements using chairs for stability. This modified practice helps stimulate their senses, improve physical mobility, and experience emotional relaxation. We believe that tailored yoga can be a vital tool for enhancing well-being and bringing joy to their daily lives.
