Medical Rehabilitation Yoga
Status: On going
Last Updated: 7 August 2026
About this Project:
The Society for the Aid and Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers (SARDA) was established in 1961 to support individuals on their path to recovery. Its Adult Female Rehabilitation Centre in Shatin provides voluntary residential treatment and holistic rehabilitation services for female drug abusers, empowering them to rebuild self-reliance, physical health, and emotional well-being within a supportive community setting.
The Andiappan Yoga Community (AYC) is honored to partner with SARDA once again to deliver tailored yoga therapy sessions for female residents at the Shatin centre. Yoga offers a gentle, inclusive, and empowering practice that compliments their residential rehabilitation program.
Through mindful breathwork (pranayama), restorative stretching, and practical relaxation techniques, these sessions aim to help participants relieve somatic tension, manage emotional stress and cravings, rebuild a positive relationship with their bodies, and enhance self-awareness. Together, AYC and SARDA strive to support these women in sustaining long-term recovery and regaining confidence in their journey toward holistic wellness.
